$27,000 for Kids Fishing Clinic

The Fourth Annual Junior Fishing Education Day returns again with The Palmerston Game Fishing Club and supported by Happy Mick’s Tackle N Tents.
As well as learning about Safety, Lures, Knots and Rod Casting For children aged 6 to 14,  each child will receive a fishing rod and reel combo and an assortment of tackle.
Mike Chambers, from Happy Mick’s, said he was excited by the response this year.
“This is going to be a great day and as usual the kids involved will have a ball and hopefully learn a few new skills from the Palmerston Game Fishing Club members.
“This is the fourth year we have supported this event, we have already filled about half the places and it’s filling up fast.
The support we have received from international tackle company Daiwa has been a key to the success of this years event, and through them, the Club and other supporters we have arranged for each child to share in over $27,000 worth of quality fishing tackle.”
Last year The Mad Mullet commented that he was astounded by the level  of corporate support the clinic receives from various sectors of the tackle industry. In 2007 he said that “Mike Chambers was telling me the kids were on the receiving end of more than $16,000 worth of fishing odds and ends including a brand spankers rod and reel combo. ”

“To grow our sport we all need to foster and develop the talent that is coming through the ranks.
From that perspective the activities of the Palmerston Game Fishing Club, the Darwin Game Fishing Club and Happy Micks should be loudly applauded
