gone insect repellant Why Choose Gone?
Up to 120 hours of use
One Size Fits all
The problem with DEET

Why Choose Gone

The GONE band product eliminates virtually all of the concerns we all have with DEET:

  • The natural chemicals which comprise the essential oils have zero toxicity if ingested or placed over an open wound.
  • The GONE band eliminates application issues on skin and clothing, including reapplication, over-saturation, and washing. It also lasts longer.
  • Child use is totally safe – even when children will be children!
  • GONE has the capacity to be completely consumer friendly as well as effective
  • GONE’s natural chemical content has also proven to be more effective in insect repellent than any other leading natural substances – i.e. citronella or geraniol.

UP TO 120 HOURS OF USE

It is the use of natural oil within the Gone band that makes this product completely different from any other product.
The Gone band is not just a product that capitalises on the presence of citronella or geriniol products, but stands out as the most effective insect repellent band there is.
Gone is 100% natural and completely environmentally friendly, effective when wet, can be re-sealed and stored in a fridge or cool area in its original package.

ONE SIZE FITS ALL

For the reasons already stated, using the Gone manufacturing process means that the new and revolutionary vapour release system separates this product from all others, including sprays and lotions.
The unique Gone process prevents any of the chemicals entering the blood stream. Gone uses a method in which the chemicals form a vapour barrier released from the wrist band.
With the Gone wristband there is no spraying or rubbing of any chemical into the skin, therefore no risk of absorption into the blood stream. West Nile and Ross River viruses have become a major concern worldwide. This product is an effective repellent and 100% natural alternative in the market today.

The top selling products for insect repelling are sprays and lotions for skin, clothes, and hair. There are however, a number of negative aspects to such products, and as concerns about chemical formulations in bug sprays continue to grow the world looks for something new.

The Top Ingredient in Bug Sprays: DEET
DEET, also known as N, N diethyl-m-toluamide, is a broad spectrum insect repellent developed in 1946, and is the number one product for repelling insects on the market due to its widespread usage and efficacy. It is also strongly connected to prevention of the West Nile Virus. It is comprised of synthetic chemicals - not natural chemicals.

The Problems with DEET:
According to DEET.com, the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has determined that only when label instructions are followed, are all concentrations of DEET safe to use by people of all ages. The agency also states, that ingestion in any capacity can be toxic, i.e. “only apply insect repellents to exposed skin taking care to avoid the eyes and mouth, and wounds”. They also urge consumers to read the entire product label before using the repellent. DEET can also be applied to clothing (natural fibers only though) for added protection. They then recommend avoiding over-saturation – which most people do not avoid. In terms of children, DEET.com provides proof that when “properly used”, DEET is safe for children. However, they ask adults not to allow kids to apply the products themselves, since they frequently put their hands into their mouths. They disregard the fact that children also touch their arms, legs, and clothes with their hands, especially when active. DEET is also to be cleaned off the skin with soap and water after returning indoors, which most people do not know or adhere to. They finally note that a very small percentage of children and adults may be sensitive to chemicals such as DEET. If there is a suspected reaction to an insect repellent, you are to wash the area and seek medical attention.
The point is, technically DEET is safe – but only when used properly. Most people do not use DEET properly.
OFF!®

SC Johnson’s OFF products, which are number one in North America, contain DEET in varying quantities, and this is becoming an increasing concern for consumers:

  • OFF Kids has 5% DEET in a 2 hour application
  • Deep Woods has 25%-30% in its 6 hour application, so if you are out for 18 hours, say on a camping trip, and apply three times – that is 100 % pure DEET on your skin.
  • Best selling OFF Skintastic contains 7% for 3 hour application
